“Boys in The Hood” consists of interviews with players of the popular but controversial game “Grand Theft Auto.” In the work, a group of players describe in great detail the situations they confronted in the game and the actions they took. Their tone of voice and the way they speak makes you think they are describing incidents from real life. Stockburger captures the player's emotional commitment to the experience of successful video games, raising questions about where the virtual ends and real life begins.
