(Cu), by the artists Esther Mañas and Arash Moori, has been selected as the winner project of the Production Grant DKV Seguros –Álvarez Margaride in its fourth edition, called jointly by this insurance company and LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial de Gijón. The artists will develop their project during a two-month artistic residency at Plataforma 0. The project proposes the use of copper as the leitmotiv by researching it and following its traces in the Asturian history and landscape, as well as artistic material in electronic, electric and sculptural applications. The artistic research will focus in the recycling and electric conductivity  potential of this material and its symbolic link to the Asturian areas where it has been extracted and produced along history.

Therefore, these artists plan to create several works based on the combination of sculpting techniques, electronics and the leveraging of electromagnetic phenomena. The production and research work during the residency will be also depicted in the final show of the project.
