An artist who uses iron y and pr esentat ion strategies that employ new commu nicat ion technologies to question t he democr atic and equalitar ian promises of these media and cr it icise t he desire for control lying be hind their appar ent transparency. Based on t he confirmation that new information an d communicat ion technologies are transf orming our everyday life, Daniel García Andújar created a fictio n (Technologies to the People, 1996) designed t o make us increase our awareness of t he reality around us and of t he deception in promises of free choice that are converted, irremissibly, into new forms of control and inequ ality. A longtime member of i rat ional.org (int ernat ional r eference point for art on the web) a nd founder of Technologies to the People, he is the cr eator of numerous projects on the Int ernet such as, among other s, art-netdortmu nd, e-barcelona .or g, e-valencia.o rg, e-se oul.org, e-wac.or g, esevilla. org, Materiales de art ist a. He has direct ed numerous workshops for artists and social collectives in differ ent countries.
