Safari Urbis
The Safari Urbis workshop combines the use of communication technologies, a commitment with the environment, and gaming with the mission to raise students’ awareness of the real situation of animals in danger of extinction, using communication technologies (mobiles).
Transnational Temps will develop a model of Safari Urbis in Gijón with everyday elements and advertising that use the image of animals in danger of extinction to draw attention to themselves. It will then organise “a safari” using 3G technology and a map of the area. The students taking part will be acquainted with concepts like ecoartivism (art practices engaged with the preservation of the biosphere), play in real space (games offering the possibility of participating in a story in real time, combining real and fictional elements).
