LABORAL - CENTRO DE ARTE Y CREACIÓN INDUSTRIAL

Laboral is a place for interaction and dialogue between art and industrial creation. And it wants to do so in the broadest possible sense. It is not a museum nor is it just another venue for the exhibition or dissemination of happening trends. Through courses and workshops, this centre opens up a channel for the production, creation and research of the most recent artistic concepts but also to all what is covered by a new term, industrial creation, that as a matter of fact is nothing more nor less than a way of transforming creativity into a cultural asset capable of generating economic growth.

The centre is born with the creation of discovering new talents in the field of art and industrial creativity, of fostering interaction with the widest audiences, and of generating a dynamic creator / work / researcher / art / science / new technologies environment.

Besides, as part of its determination to contribute to the creation of a groundbreaking and innovative image for the Principality of Asturias, it is aimed at promoting knowledge and appreciation of new artistic, scientific and technical movements among the people of Asturias. At the same time, it wants to project Asturias' industrial artistic creation and to encourage its knowledge and appreciation on international art circuits.

For all the above, laboral Art and Industrial Creation Centre will create multidisciplinary teams, that will work from a plural perspective and will keep an active and free-flowing communication with its environment. In its vision of what an art centre of this kind should be, it regards education and continuous training as a tool at the service of all citizens and of the creative communicative. Therefore, it will provide solid support to research, education and production.

The opening up to new proposals, diversity within quality, a proximity and involvement with the environment, and a vocation of service to the community in Asturias through all the means at hand will be the Centre's guidelines to achieve those goals.
