Waves- Liquid Territories
The discovery of electromagnetic waves and subsequent breakthroughs in basic science at
the beginning of the 20th century, notably relativity theory and quantum mechanics revealed
an understanding of the world profoundly different from Newtonian physics which had
governed the way the world was perceived in Europe for 300 years. It turned out that what
we could perceive with our senses was only a thin layer on the surface and that the reality of
physical matter was actually much morre complex. At the same time the oceans are some of
the least researched areas of the world, which is amazing, given that 90 percent of the earth
are covered by water.
The project extends the concept of territory from land to both water and electromagnetic
waves. The two month research period will be used to research in practical, contextual and
theoretical terms a "waves - liquid territories" project.
